Technical Evaluation of Integrated Sustainable Urban Developments (DUIS)

In the year 2009, the Federal Mortgage Society, (SHF) received from the Inter-American Development Bank (BID), the Non-Refundable Technical Cooperation grant to support the start-up of Integrated Sustainable Urban Developments (DUIS) in Mexico. The main aim was to undertake the technical evaluation of different proposals for Integrated Sustainable Urban Developments possible and the monitoring of the projects backed by the GPEDUIS Group.

DUIS are constituted as comprehensively planned development areas that contribute to the spatial planning of states and municipalities and foster more ordered urban development, whilst at the same time being denser, fairer and more sustainable. The Consortium led by Avenue TWC was chosen for the technical evaluation of specific DUIS projects.

Aside from undertaking the different technical evaluation procedures, the Consortium developed the METDUIS methodology for the evaluation of the different projects that request DUIS certification.
